About Sacred Heart College

Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, established in 1951, is a prestigious institution, managed by the Salesians of Don Bosco. It was affiliated to University of Madras. In recognition of its meritorious services in the field of higher education, it was conferred the honour of an autonomous status in 1988, received Four Star status in 1999 and got re-accredited with ‘A’ Grade in 2007 and again ‘A’ Grade (3.43) in 2013 from NAAC. It is now an affiliated autonomous college of Thiruvalluvar University. It offers three tier educations: UG, PG and Research Degrees. Programmes are offered in various disciplines such as Humanities, Arts and Science. Sacred Heart College has always been ranked as one of the top educational institutions. Department of Library

The College Library was established in the year 1951 and the New Library Block with a total area of 18938 sq.ft., was inaugurated on December 17th, 1993. The library works between 7.00 am and 7.00 pm on all the working days, 8.30 am and 4.30 pm on Saturdays and 9.00 am and 12.30 pm on Sundays. It has a collection of 78980 books related to all the subjects. The library is fully automated and Biometric systems are used for attendance.
